19 Family-Friendly Halloween Movies to Watch

Beware, witches and goblins! Halloween season is upon us, so it’s time to dig out your spookiest decorations. While you’re at it, maybe check that your comfiest pants are fresh out of the laundry to accommodate all the extra treats.

At E-Living, our goal is to ensure that your home is always the most comfortable place, no matter the time of year or the season in your life. So, gather your loved ones to celebrate Halloween with this list of family-friendly movies that will add just the right amount of eerie to your evening.

How to enjoy the perfect family movie night

  • Provide plenty of comfortable seating. A comfortable sofa is a must for any family room, but double-check that you have enough seating facing the TV for all the guests. If you have a sofa bed such as our Buffy sofa bed, open it completely and add extra pillows for a perfect lounging experience. Add some floor cushions for some additional seating if necessary.

  • Make sure that your TV is at the right level so everyone can enjoy the movie properly. Sit in different areas to check that all seats have a comfortable viewpoint. You may discover that it is time for a new TV unit.

  • What is the most important part of movie night? The snacks, of course! Create an indulging spread on the coffee table and add a couple of easy-to-pass dishes on other surfaces. Make sure that all guests will have access to an array of treats that fit their tastes and dietary restrictions, if applicable.

  • Finally, make your movie space as comfortable as possible. Bring out pillows and extra blankets to cozy up with (or hide under if necessary!) Note to the wise: a weighted blanket will feel like a comforting hug if the movie gets a little scarier than anticipated.
